Accessibility

The Edward M. Kennedy Institute strives to meet the needs of and be accessible to all of its visitors. Below, you will find several options available to those visitors who may be need assistance.

Assistive Listening Devices

The Institute is equipped with several receivers and headsets for amplified audio and descriptive audio. The devices also contain a wide range of language options for our visitors whose first language is not English.

Closed Captioning

All video presentations and Institute exhibits are captioned.

Mobility

Wheelchairs and walkers are available at the Institute’s Admissions Desk that visitors may borrow for free on a first come, first served basis. To borrow a wheelchair or walker, visit the Coat Check desk in the lobby. A form of identification must be provided to check out the requested equipment. Questions regarding the capabilities of the wheelchairs and walkers, or to make special accommodations, please contact the Visitor Services Department at 617-740-7000.

Portable Defibrillators

Several portable defibrillators are located at separate locations throughout the Institute. Staff and security personnel have been trained to use them.
