Senator Sheldon Whitehouse to speak at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute on corporate power in politics

BOSTON – The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate will welcome Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) on April 13, 2017 for a moderated discussion with Alison King, political reporter from NBC Boston. Senator Whitehouse will discuss his new book Captured: The Corporate Infiltration of American Democracy, that covers corporate power in politics, as well as the issues that he hopes to make progress on in the Senate in 2017.

The Getting to the Point series convenes individuals with diverse perspectives to discuss current issues and challenges facing the nation. Getting to the Point takes on various formats from town halls to keynote lectures and panel discussions, and showcases speakers from all walks of life. Previous events have included discussions with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Congressman John Lewis, Senators Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker, Pedro Martinez and others.
