Senator Booker to discuss the importance of public service and finding common ground at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute

Senator Cory Booker will visit as part of the Institute's Getting to the Point Series and will discuss his recently-released book United

BOSTON – The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate will welcome Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) to speak at the Institute on Sunday, February 28th in a discussion moderated by National Public Radio’s Tom Ashbrook.

Senator Booker will discuss United: Thoughts on Finding Common Ground and Advancing the Common Good, his new book about the importance of civic engagement for future generations of leaders seeking to revitalize the American Dream.

The Getting to the Point series aims to convene individuals with diverse perspectives to discuss current issues and challenges facing the nation. Getting to the Point takes on various formats from town halls to keynote lectures and panel discussions, and showcases speakers from all walks of life. Previous events have featured Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Congressman John Lewis, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Junot Diaz, Pedro Martinez and others.
