Presidential and Senate Historians discuss progress in a divided government

A discussion of Lion of the Senate by Nick Littlefield and David Nexon

Join Doris Kearns Goodwin, David Nexon, Victoria Reggie Kennedy, Michael Myers and Patricia Knight for a Getting to the Point discussion moderated by Thomas Oliphant on Lion of the Senate. The conversation will examine how Senator Kennedy found common ground with Republicans and advanced pivotal legislation in a Republican Majority, while reviewing the possibility for bipartisanship in today’s Congress.

The program will feature welcoming remarks from David Nexon, co-author of Lion of the Senate, and historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, author of the book’s foreword.
