Bipartisan Group of Senators to Join the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate and the Coalition for Public Safety for Conversation on Criminal Justice Reform
Sens. Booker, Cornyn, Lee and Whitehouse to Discuss Bipartisan Momentum for Justice Reform and Prospects for Congressional Action, As Part of Inaugural “Across the Aisle” Event
Washington – As momentum in Congress continues building to reform the nation’s criminal justice system, the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate and the Coalition for Public Safety will host a bipartisan conversation on criminal justice reform Tuesday, July 14, featuring four of the leading Senate voices calling for reform: Senators Cory Booker (D-NJ), John Cornyn (R-TX), Mike Lee (R-UT), and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI). In conversation with Bill Keller, editor-in-chief of The Marshall Project and former executive editor of the New York Times, the Senators will discuss the need and growing bipartisan momentum for reform, as well as the prospects for congressional action this year.
The conversation is the inaugural event of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute’s Across the Aisle series, bringing together government leaders from different political parties who are collaborating on a common cause.
