What kinds of events can be held at the Institute?

The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate offers a unique venue for cultural, recreational, educational, and non-profit events of all kinds. Personal and corporate events are also permitted subject to individuals agreeing to the policies of the Institute, including insurance requirements.

No representations can be made through written material (or press relations and media relations) that the Institute is sponsoring the event or has endorsed the organization sponsoring the event.

Activities that include exchange of funds on the Institute property site are not permitted. The Institute must approve all auctions, raffles, and entrance fees.

What spaces are available for rental?

The Institute offers a number of event spaces for hire—the Senate Chamber, the Lobby Area, the Surround, and the Studios. Click here to learn more about our spaces and rental rates.

When can events be held?

Breakfast events may be held Tuesday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Evening events may be held Tuesday through Sunday after 5 p.m. Institute spaces are available for hire all day Monday, except on Federal holidays. On these Mondays, breakfast events may be held from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and evening events may be held after 5 p.m.

May I use my own vendors?

No. All events must be professionally catered by one of the Institute’s preferred vendors.
