Statement of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate by Board Chair Bruce A. Percelay on Ukraine
The unprovoked and unjustified invasion by Russia of Ukraine is uniting Americans in outrage against President Putin’s act of aggression.
The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate is an institution whose core mission is the promotion and celebration of democracy, in our country and in nations throughout the world. All of us at the Kennedy Institute stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and President Volodymyr Zelensky as they bravely fight to preserve their national sovereignty, their way of life, and their historic identity and self-determination as Ukrainians.
To support the Ukranian victims of the Russian invasion, we urge you to consider donations to the following charities:
Save the Children, www.savethechildren.org/us/where-we-work/ukraine
Project Hope, www.projecthope.org
Global Giving, www.globalgiving.org
We have all seen how fragile democracy can be and by supporting Ukrainians, we support all free nations around the world.
