Author and Filmmaker Maurice Fitzpatrick to Speak at the Institute on Monday

Fitzpatrick will discuss his new book John Hume in America: From Derry to DC

BOSTON – On Monday, March 12, at 6 p.m., author and filmmaker Maurice Fitzpatrick will join the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for a moderated conversation on his recently released book John Hume in America: From Derry to DC with Boston Globe columnist Kevin Cullen. Fitzpatrick will discuss how John Hume leveraged Irish-America and U.S. politics to help forge peace in Northern Ireland.

The Institute’s public program series convenes diverse leaders and voices from all walks of life for engaging conversations in both Boston and Washington, D.C. on critical challenges facing our government and communities. Previous programs have featured a range of speakers from MSNBC’s Katy Tur to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and author Junot Díaz.
