Congressman Richard Neal to join Edward M. Kennedy Institute for virtual conversation about congressional response to coronavirus and other priorities
Timely discussion will mark first digital program as Kennedy Institute expands public offerings
BOSTON – On Monday, April 13, the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate will host Congressman Richard Neal (D-MA-01), chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee for an online Getting to the Point conversation about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
As the COVID-19 outbreak impacts people across Massachusetts and beyond, Congressman Neal will be joined by moderator Stephanie Murray, author of the POLITICO Massachusetts Playbook, to share insight into legislative deliberations, his thoughts on legislating in this unprecedented time, the federal government’s reaction to the global pandemic, and the role the Ways and Means Committee plays in this response.
While the Institute’s facility remains closed for now, the commitment to civic engagement and civic education is as strong and vibrant as ever. This program marks the Institute’s first offering held entirely online and it will be available for engagement both as a live event in addition to a recorded resource.
