Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate to welcome President Obama for Dedication on March 30, 2015

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS – The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate (EMK Institute) is honored to welcome President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden at the dedication of the Institute on Monday, March 30, 2015, in Boston, MA.

“We are truly honored to welcome President Obama, the First Lady and Vice President Biden for our dedication ceremony,” said Victoria Reggie Kennedy, President of the Board of Directors of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate.

“The Institute will give people from all walks of life a real, hands-on feel for the vital role the Senate plays in our democracy. Combining interactive technology with a full-scale representation of the U.S. Senate Chamber, the Institute will educate and inspire the next generation of citizens and leaders. It is a distinct privilege to welcome the President, First Lady and Vice President to mark this historic occasion.”

President Obama will be joined by current and former Members of Congress, other government officials, members of the Kennedy family, and friends and colleagues of the late Senator.

Following the formal dedication program, there will be a ceremony to officially open the Institute’s representation of the U.S. Senate Chamber. The ceremony will bring together current and former US Senators with students from across the country as a collective commitment is made to continued service and leadership.

The dedication ceremony will be live streamed at www.emkinstitute.org. The EMK Institute opens to the public the next morning, on Tuesday, March 31.
