The Edward M. Kennedy Institute Announces New Biomedical Fund
(BOSTON, Massachusetts) – The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate and the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) are pleased to announce the establishment of the Edward M. Kennedy Biomedical Fund at the Institute. The Fund will help educate the public and policy makers to advance the role of the United States in biomedical research and in the translation of discoveries into breakthrough treatments that benefit therapies.
The Honorable Jim Greenwood, President and CEO of BIO announced the establishment of the Fund today at the International BIO conference in Boston in honor of Senator Kennedy’s longtime commitment to biomedical innovation. According to Greenwood and in keeping with the mission of the EMK Institute and the bipartisan collaborative work of Senator Kennedy in advancing biomedical research through his service in the U.S. Senate, the goal of the Fund and the programs it sponsors will not be politics, but problem solving, principled compromise and practical solutions.
