Daniel Reilly joins as Director of Communications from Ex-Im Bank and Markey’s office

Boston, MA– The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate (EMK Institute) is proud to announce Daniel Reilly as Director of Communications. As a member of the Institute’s senior management team Reilly will oversee all of the organization’s visibility efforts as including the operations of the communications staff; develop and implement proactive outreach to highlight the EMK Institute’s unique content, programs and initiatives.

Reilly is a veteran communicator with experience on Capitol Hill, the Obama Administration and was a former reporter. Most recently, he was the Senior Vice President of Communications for Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank), the official export-credit agency of the United States. At the Bank he oversaw all external communications, marketing and public outreach activities for this government agency.

“We are excited to have Dan working for a Boston-based institution,” said Andrew Tarsy, Edward M. Kennedy Institute President. “Being able to tap Dan’s expertise to help us prepare to open our doors to thousands of individuals from across the globe will be essential to our success.”

Prior to joining Ex-Im Bank, Reilly was National Press Secretary for House Majority Leader Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.). Reilly was also the Communications Director for Representative Ed Markey (D-Mass.) who was the Chairman of the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming. From 2007- 2009 Reilly was a staff writer at Politico where he covered Congress and politics and prior to that he was in the Washington bureau of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Reilly is a former Fulbright Scholar serving in Trinidad and Tobago.
